Please remember that Creative Movement students, upwards to Gr 2 ballet (ballet students only) will require a navy leotard, navy skirt, ballet shoes and socks.
The Tinies A/B Jazz and Pre Tap 1-2 students also, require a navy leotard , with black bike pants. Reminder to all ballet students, girls going in to Grade 3 ballet this year, your uniform becomes a black ballet leotard, with ribbing on the bodice, and a black wrap skirt .
This black energetiks leotard also now becomes the jazz, contemporary and tap leotard for all Grade 1 Tap and above classes, all Pre-Modern Jazz and above classes and all Contemporary classes.
New Black v-waisted bike pants have been made, in a matching matte fabric, to the Energetiks leotard. The shiny pants from two years ago, have now been replaced.
Boys wear black ballet shoes for ballet and black jazz shoes for jazz, black tap shoes for tap. Black bike pants and a black or white t-shirt for all, black tights for senior boys.
HIP HOP students wear their black jazz leotard, and black bike pants or black leggings. They may wear black lightweight sandshoes, but may have to buy some cheaper ones for the concert, so they all look the same. If they have jazz shoes, they may wear those.
Contemporary students will wear the jazz uniform.
Grooming is a very important part of dance. Dance is a discipline.
ALL CLASSES above Creative Movement are to wear their hair in a bun. Nobody is to dance with a fringe out. The ballet shop has soft hairbands for those whose hair is not long enough for a bun, and will be expected to be neatly pulled off their face with a hairband, in a ponytail at the very least.
Intermediate Foundation Ballet students and above, may purchase any leotard, any colour and any skirt to match, but must be ballet friendly, not a gymnastics leotards. Stockings must be worn throughout the year for those students also. Those are the perks of being in the senior part of the school.
